The 1st Joyful Mystery:  The Annunciation

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) Pronunciation[uh-nuhn-see-ey-shuhn]

1.	(often initial capital letter) the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary of her conception of Christ.

2.	(initial capital letter) a representation of this in art.

3.	(initial capital letter) Also called Lady Day. the church festival on March 25 in memory of this.

4.	an act or instance of announcing; proclamation: the annunciation of a new foreign policy.

A MEDITATION ON THE ANNUNCIATION

"An announcement"......."AN ANNOUNCEMENT"......."AN ANNOUNCEMENT" What an insult to the action itself .. if refer to as an announcement... What young lover has ever, with nervous heart pounding, proposed marriage to his intended lifelong soul mate ... and in later years after hard work, fond memories of joys and sorrows, looked back on the day, she said YES, and referred in his heart of hearts to that moment of anticipation as simply "an announcement".

(Luke 1: 26-38) In these recorded and re-translated words of Scripture, telling of the carefully planned Proposal that Our Gracious Purer than Pure God of Love offered to The Virgin of Virgins. We can ,to an earthly extent, see the Joy that was felt by Gabriel and can know that His joys were and are only a faint shadow of the Jubilation in the Spirit of Second Person of the Trinity upon witnessing  the common sense, the humility, and the unwavering willingness to accept, put forth by His Mother to be.

How wonderfully You planned and did take care of every detail. Even the emotional drain on Mary would have been eased by the announcement of the late in life pregnancy of Her Cousin. Very probably, the first of many, privileged knowledge's..  And the anticipation of visiting Elizabeth must have been a welcome vacation from the busy body small community of Nazareth. An announcement no, not an announcement ... it is truly THEE ANNUNCIATION  and made joyful beyond comprehension by THEE ACCEPTANCE of the Proposal.

A MEDITATION ON THE RESURRECTION 

Lord: the only son of widow of Nain,  YOU raised from the dead (Luke 7:11-15)

Lord: the brother of Martha and Mary, Lazarus,  YOU  raised from the dead ( John 11)

When You rose from the earthly death, a death that You freely excepted for our sakes, it was and is a proof of the completion of all that You foretold. Only You deserve to have risen, all others rise and will rise on Your merit, by Your calling. Even our answering of the call to raise these pitiful eyes toward You,  is by Your Grace. Oh how love is felt at the times when  there is a total dependence on You and You alone and You give me the grace to be confident in that dependence.

My consciousness fears the times when my being pretends to be dependent on You and am really attempting to rise to the occasion on my own. what damage it does to me...can you repair it? Will there come a time You will be forced to say You can't ? ... My prayer is once again that Your Love will overcome my pride and that You will continue to be patient and gentle with me ... as you have always been ... Thank You My God     

Jesus: You rose from the dead, the earthly body was of no more use, Your Spirit Triumphed. You had done every first and last thing a human should do and every last thing a God could do. Utilizing the form of humanity, not for Yourself but totally for the rest of us. The example and commandments You gave, cover it all.

The will and inklings You give are more then ample for myself and all humans to follow Your loving ways, allowing us to be pleasing to You, and more than "pleasing" to You, to be as a friend to You, and more than a "friend", a Brother. a Sister, a Sibling, a Child of Your Same Father. Yet the more this is pondered, the further from it my mind seems. Pondering in NOT ENOUGH, action must be taken, action driven by Your Love, confident and confirmed in Your Peace, bold enough to be gentle, fearless enough to suffer all things in this earthly life. and trusting in Your strength alone.

The 2nd Glorious Mystery: The Ascension

A MEDITATION ON THE ascension

Lord: What a wonderful gift You have given in the recording of this happening (Mark 16:14-20) (Acts 1:1-11). Even Your chosen twelve needed to be rebuked for a lack of faith .. Thank You for letting me know that my lacking is common, both in not needing to expect myself to ever be anything special and that You can always be counted on  to correct, forgive, and show me the way.  This in itself is a Grace from You which allows my senses to rise upward.

Please accept my sincere apology for the times Your powers of faith have been asked for : to speak in different tongues, to heal in Your most Holy Name, and all the other presumptuous things done through my pride. These things were asked for not for Your benefit but for mine. Such things may not be suitable for me during this earthly life. Thank You for allowing me to not parish until You were able to finally break through the false humility causing me to ask.

As St. Theresa Your Little Flower knew and knows in Her Heart ..YOUR LOVE is enough for us. please allow me and my family to accept this lofty goal...  .and then do with us as You Will.. Allow our hearts to become lowly and our spirits to ascend with Yours' ... even though our lot in life will be that of common workers and citizens ... allow our thoughts to rise to You in all things  Even though we may never be called to take vows of poverty ... allow our possessions to be consecrated to being Poor in Spirit and for the betterment of Your Kingdom. For where such earthly pride as ours exists Your gift of lowering us, is allowing us to ascend to a level of humility that has been, until this time unseen, in our earthly life ...We pray it is pleasing to You ... and then do with us as You Will...
